I thought the narrative was pretty coherent as far as weird internet shit goes.
It's just silly g mod shit, g mod humor started with millennials for crying out loud.
Gen alpha teaming up with millenials to prove that zoomers were the cringe ones all along.
We can't call them Gen Alpha though that sucks. What about Centurions since they were all born in the 21st century? Or I bet we can go even more cringe than that what about Centennials?
Well millennials are already named after the 21st century (cus they were mostly kids, teens, and young adults around 2000 I guess? and the 21st century is more importantly a new millennium than a new century)
I honestly think gen z should’ve been named after the 21st century and been called “millennials” instead of gen y. Since zoomers (‘97-‘12) are the first generation to universally grow up in and not know or remember anything from the last century
although ironically the term for the belief in the upcoming end of the world is called millenialism (in reference to a specific part of revelations someone decided to focus on)
revelations also has stuff in it that implies that salvation after death is possible
but mainly revelations is prophecy and prophecy is in poetry it's not literal.. For example the visions of nebechenezzar
Revelations is also mostly written in like 1st and 2nd century memes and cultural references. It's mostly about contemporary politics.
we don't really have a clue what it's about as it relied on references that only the Christian sect of the small island it was written on understood and they all died.
It's a particularly unreliable piece of scripture to make hard certain statements based on
Can we keep that bit in the Book of Judges where a Jewish hero rises up, sneaks into the castle of an occupying emperor, declares "I bring a gift from God" before stabbing him to death, and sneaking out the window? Cuz that's based as fuck.
Also, the emperor's guards don't bother to check on him for awhile after he's been stabbed, because they're like "Ah, he's probably taking a fat shit rn. Let him be".
I love all these things where it's like "Gen α is going to drive us all into the ocean with their strangeness being even weirder" and it's like
It's no different than any other bit of weird, random humor
Sometimes that shit is not funny and sometimes it is, it's not like it's going to make an unreachable divide between human beings
The real question is who is writing these articles? Are there really that many X'er talking heads who still haven't figured out neo-dada post-irony shit?
And who are the articles for? Are there some just incredibly boring millenials who have been living off-grid since 2001 and are just now returning to society?
Honey the same 6 articles about generational discourse get recycled for the current socio political climate every 6 months by 100 different journalists. I'm only in my 20s but I've seen each of these articles written at least a dozen different ways in my lifetime
-
doesn't want to work, cares too much about being nice (activism, minorities, positive workculture) and not being nose to the grindstone
-
strange sense of humor that is obviously dumb and bad
-
foppish, effeminate, weak men and tacky, self absorbed women
-
knows nothing about politics and doesn't care
-
isn't interested in learning the "important" skills, trades, degrees
-
doesn't respect parents, authority, country, family, faith
edit: by the way this has been going on for millennia. The fucking romans pulled the same shit. Its always the same.

I can't tell what website this was published on, but like all things, it's liable to be a mix of genuine confusion and cynical grabs for attention
insecure 20-somethings projecting their anxiety about aging and losing touch outward are doing the principal skinner bit, more at 11
you just gotta learn to fucking roll with it. Learn to say “I don’t get it, good for them.”
It's not that hard to get, you just need to watch about 30 hours of whatever the latest streaming app is to stay on top of the new technical jargon.
Ok but why would I do that it's a meme about a toilet man I have better things to do than obsessively follow toilet man lore
I like to collect new slang and jargon and combine it with buzzwords from the 1890s as a hobby.
for the record I get it personally but that’s probably because I was one of the first iPad kids with the 1st model or something
You cannot claim gen alpha is a step too far when we had Markiplier Farquaad E and overedited MLG compilations that would kill children in the Great Depression. I refuse. I reject it on principle.
Why do people think Depression era kids were so fragile? Those kids woke up at 3am, ate a few sawdust cigarettes for breakfast, and then went down in to the mines for 23 hours. If they can fight Balrogs at six years old they could handle some Mario mpreg videos.
To be fair, those Balrogs were malnourished and dying of polio, so it's not like modern Balrogs who have been fully vaccinated and possess functioning immune systems. Balrogflation is a motherfucker.
Honestly if the average person was capable of doing this, we'd probably have a lot less unhinged gibberish to laugh at
the internet generations' memes all the same tbh
semi-ironic memes about suicide
e-celeb references
mundane thing is actually weird when you think about it/are high
lol so random
surrealism
rage comicsyou get more of a difference in platform vs generation tbh
like a tumblr meme is orders of magnitude more different from a 4chan one than a zoomer meme vs a millenial memethe reality is there hasn't been a culturally distinct generation since 1990
There has only been one culturally distinct generation and that generation was the brave Soviet Citizens who created the utopian paradise of 1950s Moscow. All glory and honor to Comrade Lenin, Comrade Stalin, and the People's Republics.
I haven't seen any rage comic in years. The closest thing right now seems to be schizoposting Lynchian melting post-wojaks
Skibidi Toilet is like something leapt out of the early 2000s internet and into the present day. It's lolsorandom humor crossed with people in cool black clothes fighting shit. It was made in a jank tool for internet people. If it was lower resolution, hosted in a flash player, and 4:3 instead of phone:ratio it'd be a relic from Newgrounds.
the fact that it was made with gmod makes it feel moreso, you don't really see gmod memes very much now.
Someone needs to dub it to say "You The Man Now Dog" and let those Alphas know that Millennials are still in charge.
back in my day, the animated series of singing toilets fighting was 2d, their bodies were stick figures and they were drawn in flash!
And they would have an obligatory and unnecessary bullet time segment.
I only watched like 7 episodes, but it doesn't vibe like those oldschool Newgrounds animations at all. Narrative wise, I think it's post 00s because there's a clear narrative when viewed chronologically. It's only lol random if you watch the first three episodes, but it obviously builds upon them and tries to craft some skibidi toilet cinematic universe. It's also a lot more dystopian than what was around in the 00s.
The article is playing up its novelty to say it's done by Gen Alpha while people here are saying it's the same as some animation from Albino Blacksheep. To me, it's just more zoomer shit.
There was stuff back then that built up a narrative. Things like Final Fighting Fantasy or the Shock stick fight series.
I think it's more about how the series narrative gets constructed. I just see the influence of the MCU when I see these new videos. It's like how you can tell Filthy Frank was a series made in the 10s and not the (late) 00s like AVGN. Sure, AVGN had characters, but there wasn't a conscious effort to create an AVGN universe while Filthy Frank had 30+ realms where a bunch of those characters came from in some Filthy Frank cinematic universe.
This is absolutely not a gen alpha meme. If you think it is you're just out of touch tbh
The creator started their channel in 2016 for Christs sake, you're telling me he's gen alpha?
tbh its a pretty typical zoomer meme. its unique for sure, but its not something zoomers “dont understand”. im sure many boomers can understand skibidi toilet. this is what AI-written articles based on tiktoks looks like
It's not any weirder than Cows and Cows and Cows and Cows or Zombo.com or shit.
Caramel Dansen plays in the distance, slowly getting louder
This is absolutely not a gen alpha meme.
I got like 10 videos of literal children using the skibidi toilet filter on tiktok, so it is popular with kids i think. it will remain popular for 2 more weeks, tops.
I don't even know who Gen ἄλφα is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure we shouldn't be making up another demographic catepory for at least a few more years.
It’s not being created by gen alpha obv, they’re just the main audience, and maybe the main people distributing/reposting it
The creator started their channel in 2016 for Christs sake, you're telling me he's gen alpha?
All those Flash animations millennials get nostalgic about weren't made by millennials. Actual content made by millennials for millennials is early YTP.
Because it is. Kids have been using the same source filmaker for meme videos for like 12 years. Lol
"YABBA MY ICING"
"Your Icing?"
And from that day forward I could no longer take the headcrab zombie's sound design seriously
No way man, I'm gonna keep on laughing forever
Forever
Forever
Forever....
Why does someone do this article every fucking decade?? Gen A isn't making this. The oldest ones are middle schoolers. I still remember being told that millennials hadnt accomplished anything and it was like bro, were under 18 shut up
You don't have to make something to be its primary audience. Those old-school Flash animations, especially the greatest hits people still reference like that badger song, were made by Gen X, but Black Albino Sheep and Newgrounds were almost completely populated by middle/high school millennials. We're just starting to reach a point where you have zoomer creators making shit for a gen alpha audience.
For sure, I'm just mad that the article is directly saying the kids are creating this
Gen a are consuming it. What a lifetime of unmoderated internet access does to a child smh.
sitting my kids down and forcing them to watch Half Life: Full Life Consequences, despite their protests. you gotta appreciate the classics!!!
Generations may pass but Gmod goofs done with Half-Life 2 assets are eternal
who sees a video made by a teenager about a singing toilet and upon not getting it has an existential crisis. Yeah man you aren't going to be teenagers forever and shouldn't try. I further predict that one day gen alpha will be in their early 20s and someone younger still will be the teenagers
Do... Do people just not remember Crazy Frog? Like, what is there to get?
Seriously, internet humor hasn't massively changed since the 2000's. The popularity of certain aspects waxes and wanes as different sections of the internet and different age-groups within that internet discover and re-discover things but there is nothing foreign here. Hell, the most recent 'weird thing' for me was mukbang videos, but people have always been weird about certain noises or whispering, it's just that now with the the wide-spread adoption of studio quality microphones, people can experiment and go with whatever the weirdos want.
Hell, Wojacks are just Rage Comics from over a decade ago, just with ever so slightly improved art
