One year our gooseberry bush had maybe 300 little centimeter-long grubs that had to be picked by hand, almost wasn't worth the absurd amount of berries it makes every year
Every time I find a giant-ass caterpillar on my peppers I carefully capture them and carry them over to sacrificial muscodine grape vines or something, then those rude fuckers just inch their way back over to my pepper plants by the next day

what do they taste like? I've seen them at the farmers market and I wanted to try them but I don't want to waste them lol
They're super good. It's like crossing the tartness of a raspberry with the flavour depth of a blueberry.
Love these guys. Probably gonna plant some next spring. I will refer to them as “gooseyboys.” May do currants instead but the name isn’t as fun, so leaning towards gooseberries.
