I love his cohost sitting there like "holy fuck I didn't know Linus grew up in the 1940s"

What linus is actually trying to say is very true though, it's wild how pervasive that particular word was not even that long ago. Like back in 2013 it was still pretty much normal for most people

You can pinpoint the exact moment Luke wonders to himself if he still has his old manager's phone number for when Monday rolls around after Twitter gets to this.

After the initial shock he kinda looked similar to me when I dissociate. I'll never forget how pissed he looked during the "trust me bro" warranty episode. I saw a supercut on reddit I think since I stopped watching Linus sometime soon after I heard his attrocious takes on unions.

He did have terrible takes on unions but I did have some respect for him saying in no uncertain terms "if my employees want to unionize that's their choice, nothing I can do about it" which of course is a low bar since that's just legally true, but I've known plenty of small business owners who don't recognize that fact at all and think they're petty lords in a feudal system

Linus is so lucky that they both had different understandings of the phrase. Imagine if they were on the same wavelength and just kept talking assuming everyone knew what they meant lol

I was thinking something like "wascal" but with the real r-word slur.

The n-word hard-r is definitely worse than the n-word soft-r/a, but Linus' definition of hard vs soft r is more ambiguous as to which one is worse if used in a sentence.

I had a speech impediment until like 10th grade so I feel this in my bones. Everyone used to come up and tell me, “Hey [TheDoctor], say [the r word] for me. Real quick.”

Edit: Did I say “everyone”? I meant my friends. Only my friends did that to me. I’m autistic btw.
