His account is a trip - https://bsky.app/profile/johnbrownstan.bsky.social/. He also thinks Biden won the debate.

I'm not political expert or nothin' but I bet AIPAC's $15 million had something to do with Bowman's loss too. I dunno - maybe?

i mean, it's not that hard to believe he lost largely because most USians are propagandized zionists (especially older people, who vote by far the most in local elections). advertising money doesn't guarantee anything unless you have something definingly different from your opponent (or no one knows them), and the election was very publicized in being seen as for or against israel. wrote this in another comment:

bowman already had a huge incumbent advantage and way more name recognition than most reps, so there's no reason to believe people seeing the other guy's ads more is the reason he lost (even if it certainly didnt help). if it were that easy, mike bloomberg would be president and all the other cases where interest groups spent ungodly amounts to unseat a progressive would've generally worked

Or could it possibly be that being wishywashy on Gaza is actually the problem? An overwhelming majority of Americans believe this is a genocide, the majority of democrats are anti-Israel.

Saying “Israel had a right to defend itself after October 7th but it needs to slow down” like Bernie did at rallies for him just pisses off both sides, you’d be better off calling for bombing Tel Aviv.

I don't believe a majority of people are anti Israel in America and even if they were a majority of people doing next to nothing about a genocide sparks volumes about their actual views.

The VAST majority of the people in America doesn’t give a shit about what’s been happening in Palestine. It stops at “yeah awful things are happening in other places outside of our country.” If people really cared, you would have seen a much larger scale of protests.
