In Sweden the social democrats have been in power for most of the past century and they used to be more left during the 1900s but I'd guess they're pretty centrist or right now, but a bit centreleft of the norm sadly, of course you'll still have right wingers calling them socialists. The left party, which split off from them long ago critisises them pretty regularly, which is cool, like you say in the US they'd have to stick together and not ""infight""
