Maybe don't have ceremonial religion mixed with government? But I critically support the lawsuit and it just survived a dismissal challenge
This Substack article has some more information on this. This is an article from last October about the same lawsuit It looks like the county commissioner meetings begin with a prayer led by a local religious leader and the lawsuit alleges shady goings-on because the religious leaders who have been selected recently just so happen to support the far-right organization founded by one of the commissioners. It also appears that the pastor in question started a pride festival and this started beef between him and this commissioner. I love local politics, I hope they get his ass.
I think to survive, mainstream Christianity in the future is going to soften on LGBT rights, but still shun promiscuity. It will be a little like how some parents of gay people in China mandate that they and their partner get married abroad and do surrogacy to have a child with the family's genes.
I hope that's what happens but what they actually want to do is much worse and they seem to be barreling ahead with little resistance.
Probably but instead Christianity is relentlessly taking the route of entrenching white minority power in wealthy western countries.
Yeah, there are growing schisms among many factions, a few of which are going all in on white supremacist theocracy.
The archive only has a paragraph, looks like it wasn't able to bypass the paywall :(
Yeahv sorry about that. I tried proxy and archives but no success. But it got the big point of the dismissal challenge being tossed.
