Honestly, I have been remarkably fortunate. I think my friends who have it the hardest are the ones who are in school, either as university students or as teachers, but they seem to be holding up.
Partly this is because I live in BC, Canada -- I know that it's such a cliche for Canadians to be smug about being better than the US, but this is a case where I think Canadian government has done a demonstrably better job of taking care of people than the US has. (Not perfect, though -- there have been evictions happening in Vancouver. And as always, the government is still being shitty to indigenous people.)
My dad has been posting right-wing stuff about how we need to get society back to normal and how COVID isn't as dangerous as everyone says -- which sucks, but I'll take that over conspiracy theories about how COVID was invented by the Chinese or that it's a hoax altogether, and at least he still wears a mask in public places.
