yeah, that's some bullshit. classic example of "those who the law binds but does not protect" vs "those who the law protects but does not bind".

    This is a testament to the fact that gambling is a completely predatory industry, even beyond the inherently rigged house bias in every offering.

    I would say that I hope this kills online sports betting for MGM, but we all know that this will not deter people for whom this service is enabling an actual addiction.

    You know full well they wouldn’t have cancelled that bet if he had lost.

      Yeah. And if I were his attorney, that would probably be a huge part of my suit. like, make them prove that they would have automatically caught and refunded his bet if he had lost.

      It's very obviously fraud, super easy lawsuit to win. OP is flat-out incorrect about this being legally defensible.
