For all the Democrat strategists endlessly pursue the mythical suburban white moderate, they seem deliberately ignorant of the extent of that demographic's quiet sexism. Whitmer is stronger than Harris is or Hillary was imo, but if they're still trying to court "moderate Republicans," that might hurt Whitmer more than it might help them with '08 Hillary ➡️ McCain "PUMA" voters that just want to vote for a woman on the ticket. Plus there are probably a non-negligible amount of covid brainwormed voters that would balk at Whitmer because "she did lockdown stuff" or whatever.
