Anyone with a singular focus on anything will be bad at relationships, whether it's video games, sports, horses, "going viral", or any number of things people get overly obsessed with.
I noticed a lot of these sorts don't know what they want, even if you drop a potentially interested gamer girl at their doorstep, they get really, really scared and shy all of a sudden. Almost as if they're following societal expectations, like it's an achievement checklist in a game.
