Israeli politics has been taken over by hostile right-wing forces. It's gotten worse and worse since the death of Rabin.

We love our Israeli comrades, same as we loved our German comrades in the 1930s and 40s.

Assuming this is not a bit: Honestly I think a big part of being a good comrade is to know your "bruises" from your "cuts", for lack of a better term. Like, someone says something like "infinite genocide on Europe", and a part of me is like "wait I live in Europe, hey that fellow's talkin' about me!" — but at the same time a bigger part of me is like "Well, I benefit to some degree or another from an exploitative system that has caused untold destruction, death and misery upon the world, righteous anger is the only natural response to that and 'infinite genocide' is clearly just a hyperbolic expression of that righteous anger. If or perhaps when war next comes to this country, I would know that it was only because of the belligerent nature of an unjust system struggling to maintain itself, and it follows that I should take the progressive side of the conflict in whatever ways I can, and if I get caught in the crossfire despite having good intentions then, as Ned Kelly said, such is life."

Which is to say, "infinite genocide on Europe" is a "bruise", not a "cut". It's a statement that I can tolerate and that I need to be able to tolerate. To be so fragile about that kind of meme that I'd get offended over it would be to demonstrate my privilege loud and clear.

And I feel like for the principled Jewish anti-Zionists of occupied Palestine, that they would probably feel the same way. Like, they'd know which privileges they do and don't have, they'd know the source of the conflict and how much the occupation regime really cares about them, and they'd try to aid the Palestinian liberation, but they'd also know that the situation is just terminally fucked up — and they've somehow managed to make peace with this fact, which honestly cannot be easy.

It doesn't hurt my feelings. It is bad messaging. It harms the movement.

Rhetoric like this gets Palestinians killed.
