This isn’t true; the oil industry was nationalized in the 70’s, Chavez just redirected more of the profits of it towards the lower classes.
Chavez did seize some property owned by foreign companies. But he paid them what their tax reports claimed it was worth, and they were pissed.
That's somehow cooler than just seizing the assets without compensation.
