Proud Boys will be used as a front, however. If the state wants to instigate a conflict with protesters they aren't going to do the deed themselves and create a Kent State-like scenario, they'll just do it like they did in Kenosha and kettle the protesters towards the counter protesters, sparking a conflict, and allowing the fascist police department to swoop in and restore law and order like the "heroes" they are.
