Former Vice President Joe Biden said he’s concerned about what would happen if Republicans get "clobbered" in next year’s election, suggesting such an outcome would be harmful to bipartisanship.
"I'm really worried that no party should have too much power," Biden told reporters Friday during his bus tour in Iowa. "You need a countervailing force."

because if the republicans don't exist, the overton window shoots to the left and dems hate that--they love being able to do the bare minimum while getting the POC vote.
They fantasize about low key, inconsequential debates over tax rates between the Mommy Dems and the Daddy Republicans because they have no political consequence to their lives.
This. This, so fucking hard. They want politics to be a boring thing they only have to pay attention to during elections. They want to be swing voters who get to carefully assess the nuanced differences between the Democratic candidate, and the Republican candidate. They want politics to look like how it does in School House Rock.
It's almost as if the democrats and republicans share similar class interests and are better off when both exist without changing the status quo too much...wonder if anyone's written any theories or anything about that :curious-marx:

You just gotta lose valiantly so they will see how noble you are and change their ways, turning the republicans back into the "grand old party".
Then we can all have brunch in peace.

Remember, everything you do is legal.
Anything you can possibly physically do in the real world is okay. Laws are just a social construct.
