the plastic in mine is starting to hum with certain sounds and it's driving me up the fffff wall
i bought a jbl audio one about 6 years ago and it has consistently driven us nuts ever since... any time there is even a microsecond of no sound in a tv show or movie it goes into sleep mode, and then once sound is detected again it wakes up but you miss .25-.5 seconds of audio... it is the most insane thing ever
also what i've realized is this is relatively uncommon except for in shows like Family Guy which it happens constantly throughout to the point where its just not even watchable with this stupid sound bar.
highly would not recommend
I got one from Yamaha 10 years ago, still going strong so I'd recommend the brand
Anything solid from brands like Yamaha, Sennheiser, or LG should be good.
I used to work for Yamaha and bought a mid range sound bar for my dad. We set it up through HDMI ARC and the only issue is sometimes the soundbar volume and TV volume get it of sync. Turning both down to 0 and back up fixes it.
If budget allows, go for a 3 channel soundbar, the middle speaker channel in a surround setup is dedicated to dialogue, so it might help with the modern problems of not being able to understand what people are saying in streaming shows these days. Otherwise I know the Yamaha speakers have a dialogue boost sound mode.
