I futzed around with it in PCSX2 for a bit and this game really is goofy as hell (also it's not really showcased here, but the English dub and Japanese are night and day--played through a bit of both). Though goddamn, they really could have used Sakurai's advice to 1. allow all cutscenes to be skipped and 2. get the player right into the action. Is there a game in here worth playing, or is it the kind of thing where it's more fun to watch someone play the awful dub rather than try to engage with it sincerely? Plot seems like it's literally "Evangelion but change the names so we don't get sued," and the combat doesn't seem that enticing (although I did make a beeline for the real estate agency and level it, which was pretty satisfying). Pretty interesting concept to have the mecha be remote controlled and have to run around on foot so you can maintain a line of sight, though--I didn't understand that from just watching the video.
