John: I'm in your area tonight, get ready and we'll chill

me: bet, you live pretty close, be ready in 15

50-90 mins later

John: leaving now

It's the John syndrome in my circle.

    This is my sister

I just don't make plans with her anymore because she doesn't give a shit about my time

I call that a sign you should schedule things 30-60 minutes earlier than you expect to do them

But seriously idk they either have adhd, other obligations, or don't care about your time and I don't think there's a reliable way to know which

I’m the John. I do have adhd but if I’m being analytical it’s: I’m really excited to hang out, I really want to hang, and Inwant to reserve your time, but life keeps getting in the way such as… not having car available or me giving the most optimistic time it would take to take bus/finish work/etc.

It’s not nice, but it doesn’t come from a place of malice or lack of respect. I would only do this with close friends

Oh yeah I never doubted that a ton of people who are late often have ADHD or other obligations. In fact I'd say most people who end up doing that or are in that situation aren't being malicious or even ignorant, just circumstanceb

Forever-late people will catch on to that game and pretty soon you'll be telling them to meet at 4am for brunch
