    I'm no medical expert by any stretch of the imagination but from my understanding, when you're lung function deteriorates, your circulatory system increases circulation to compensate. Increased circulation means higher heart rate which means higher blood pressure. I could see how it would lead to a hemorrhagic stroke in someone who is already predisposed.
