Also drugs and tolerance. I knew a person that had to be high on weed all the time in order to function (legal in my country). He'd keep very tiny joints everywhere, in his wallet, jacket pockets, etc that he'd use to smoke every 30 min to an hour in order to maintain his high throughout the day. Eventually, due to a build up in tolerance, his habit became too expensive and impractical to keep up and he eventually quit his daily/hourly smoking habit. The whole thing was painful to watch (no shame to anyone addicted to anything, this crushing world is at fault) and I haven't seen him in a while, hopefully he's doing better now.
