Everyone's always talking about PSL, SRA, DSA, RR, CPUSA, and I'm just over here like "I just wanna grill for god sake!"

There's a million little random leftist organizations with slightly different goals and ideologies, but which one should someone looking to, in the words of Father Matt, 'log the fuck off' go to? Which ones are crank warehouses? Which are honeypots? Which are full of libs?

Bitch and complain about your least favorite orgs and shill for your favorites here. Reply to others telling them that their org is full of libs and FBI agents. Etc.

EDIT: also anyone with a specific recommendation in the Quad Cities area in Iowa/Illinois definitely drop me a line

I was a DSA member but I had to cut back my membership due because of monetary reasons; ironically after I became a non-member I showed up at least twice to meetings. My biggest problem was that the DSA meeting is down on the other side of the city, a 45 min drive on a good day with zero traffic. So I showed up, listened to the program, spoke my 2cents, and had to get back in the car by 9pm if I wanted to see my family any longer than 5 minutes. No time to get to know fellow comrades! They did have a mission to the border to drop off supply, medicine and more for immigrants stuck on both sides of the border and that felt really nice to know, as a Hispanic. But I felt bummed out I couldn't do more.

A city as large as mine should have 5 DSA chapters in various sub-zones. The fact NYC can manage that and we can, says a lot. I do appreciate they had child-care but my kid was/is still very young for me to drop him off (plus the meetings happen during his bedtime).

I don't even know if a PSL, SRA, or CPUSA chapter exists in our city, so it's a fucking bummer.
