I don't have sciatica but I have another condition that causes me constant pain (NDPH, unending migraine). I'm really sorry. It's impossible to understand the psychological toll of existing like this until you go through it yourself.
Yes it really does wear you down. I'm finding myself getting agitated and snappy just doing basic things and basic conversations because the background pain just makes everything seem worse.
I hope there's an eventual end in sight for you, at least with sciatica its meant to eventually get better, though it's hard to imagine that at times.
I think it's worse when the pain isn't tied to a physical thing like a muscle or broken bone or whatever and its just this insidious non specific nerve pain that's always there. Really draining.
