Surely it can't be because the clowns behind the grift are making way more money being clowns and claiming they can't show the cult what's in the box because what's in the box needs a few more hundred million dollars and just a few years, promise for reals this time.

Surely it's because what's in the box is post-Gambo levels of awooga libertarian-alert hypersus and that'll make thousands of dollars of internet jpeg investments pay off.

That's the thing with Star Citizen: it's a big money-sucking cloud of vague promises, so it's easy for the believers to make themselves believe what they want is in that mystery box, just waiting to pop out. Imagine a video game about internet spaceships making this particular believer's particular come true and the mystery box pops open at last with a big steaming fragrant eruption of awooga libertarian-alert hypersus .

It won't, but I suppose putting enough money into anything will make someone believe reality will bend according to their invested desires.

I never put any money into Star Citizen, but just watching it from afar, the entire grift is a miniaturized version of my-hero , a microcosm of bazinga in a virtual space, so yes, my hate is pure for it.

how long will it take for the cool fighter pilot archetype to die now that drones and passive detection are making even stealth manned aircraft obsolete

Fighter jets won't be obsolete until they come up with a more expensive piece of military hardware and a better way to let bloodthirsty children of political families go kill some people.

No idea, especially since the cool fighter pilot doesn't even have to actually exist, such as the le Ghost of le Kiev. zelensky-pain

It would be funny if you kept on having boss fights with the ghost of kilrath or whatever and then you find out at the end that they never existed.

Is this game still in development? Isn't Chris Roberts like going in international vacations while these people buy imaginary virtual spaceships for like 300k dollars?

Yes to all above questions, though the amount is only in the tens of thousands of dollars and rising.

a game yet to be made is better than a game that is finished and appeals to more people because of their own expectations and headcanon

It's a "playable alpha" right now, which is also a bullshit claim because alphas are supposed to be feature complete which is impossible with the avalanche of increasing feature creep in Star Citizen.

Well, in Star Citizen's defense even here in the Drej Tank, it is playable all the same unlike "Squadron 42," and it's at least a game, all right...
