Those in power don't care about the innocents they kill, the genocide their system causes, the suffering, the bigotry, the inequality.

They are simple-minded. To them, the world is a game of kill or be killed, and they won. They don't care or care to understand that their "winning" will kill them too eventually. They live in a fantasy world where the only rule is take until you die. They will use every tool that the system rigged to favour them has given them. You cannot shame them into submission. To them, if they submit they die and It's you or them. Don't try to convince them otherwise, to them your words are a trick to win and become just as sick as they are.

Take, consume until it's all gone, move on, take, consume, move, take, consume, move.

The only thing they know how to do is take a beautiful creation and turn it into death.

The worst part is that they don't want to be any better.

They are broken human beings that eat their own children, their own species, a cancer, and if we let them they won't stop until the species is dead. Until everything is dead and there is nothing left to kill.

So there's a comic book called Punisher: The End

The Punisher is finally locked up, Frank Castle killed the men who murdered his family and ended up in Maximum Security for it

The people of New York are happy until it's revealed that the US declared war on China, the birds are in the air and there are about 20 minutes before everything is scoured from the face of the Earth

The guards start killing the inmates, the prison is a shelter and they want all the supplies for themselves

    They make it to Frank

    They don't make it back

Five years later, Frank claws himself and the other survivor out of the prison. The food and water are running out and the only options are starve or make a play for it

They trudge along, the world still burning with invisible flame, killing them slowly as they push onwards

Finally, they find what they were looking for

A shelter, packed to the gills with advanced technology and more than enough supplies to live comfortably

This is where the rich and powerful hunkered down before the world ended, they knew what was going to happen and they didn't care

They thought they had enough to withstand any contingency

They never counted on The Punisher

Half dead from radiation sickness, his purpose still crystal clear

He slaughters them to a man, even as they plead and beg

"We're humanity's last chance!" they cry

But Frank knows, humanity is long dead, turned to ash and vapor

    They don't deserve to live

He emerges from the bunker, the last living human

It's a bright sunny day in New York City, his family is waiting in Central Park.

If he hurries, maybe he'll get there in time to join them

If we can't save the world, we can at least avenge it

Honestly, I get more doomer about random Australians who are nowhere near power but nonetheless venerate it. Like, I get that Australians as a whole are beneficiaries of empire, but its bleak to encounter a renting tradie who thinks Malcolm Turnbull will decrease their rent through the power of negative gearing

I heard an absolutely wild take that was "I don't agree with Pauline Hanson's ideas in race but her other policies are sound, so I vote One Nation" from a KFC assistant store manager

Said to me, a Chinese person, next to his South Asian girlfriend in a bar. ???? Motherfucker you were just complaining that you had to move back in with your mum because rent got too high. You were fucking complaining how your white co-workers are dogshit who show up late and stoned to work, if at all, and over half the reliable workers are immigrants, but you'll vote One Nation because they're lowering taxes? You barely pay taxes, you only started earning enough money to be taxed in 2020.

Young Liberals and One Nation buying up Facebook Reels/YT shorts has been a tactical victory for the demographic of politically illiterate proles.

Because, after all, we must resign ourselves to the inevitable and say to ourselves, once and for all, that the bourgeoisie is condemned to become every day more snarling, more openly ferocious, more shameless, more summarily barbarous; that it is an implacable law that every decadent class finds itself turned into a receptacle into which there flow all the dirty waters of history; that it is a universal law that before it disappears, every class must first disgrace itself completely, on all fronts, and that it is with their heads buried in the dunghill that dying societies utter their swan songs.

    —Aimé Césaire, Discourse on Colonialism

This is why I always stress that I am not a leftist because of some emotional, spiritual, or altruistic reason. The underlying root and substance of my position is that it is in my rational self interest. You could say it's selfish. Those other things are important but they are not the anchor of my beliefs. I believe a better world is possible because I want to live in it. Safety for myself and my loved ones at the expense of others is doomed to eventual failure. True safety and security can only be achieved through socialism.

Exactly,my main hatred of these people is that they are plunging all of us into chaos with no plan in mind

I want peace and security more than anything and capitalism and its attack dogs will do anything to erode every last bit of safety in this world and ruin what we could've had

Also,my hatred is doubled because I am relatively young, being born into a world of promises and somewhat more optimistic outlook on the future, even if it was a neoliberal lie, only to come into adulthood to see it all crumbling down is all the more infuriating

I think it's more cruel to give a person hope only to then squash it and reveal it was all a lie. At least those in misery expect things to be bad from the get go

"I´d like to share a revelation that I´ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your class, and I realized that you’re not actually mammals.

Every mammal on this planet instictively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you bourgeois do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way can survive is to spread to another area.

There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus.

Bourgeois beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we… are the cure.”
