Decreasing the federal income tax rate

That’s a garbage question. People might want a decrease for their tax bracket and lower but not higher brackets, but that framing doesn’t allow for that extremely important distinction. Not to mention the various factors that go into deductions and write offs that determine people’s actual rate.

kind of funny how 20-30% of these undecided "moderates" want stuff that the US has toppled foreign governments over like price controls

it's not 20-30% of them, it's +20-30 net percentage points which means a majority or at least plurality want it (eg if 60% of ppl support it, 30% are against it, 10% don't know, then 60% - 30% = +30 pts)

thats only because the american government knows it won't do any of the sort but cannot trust foreign governments to be equally undemocratic.

That temporary child tax credit was a huge help for child poverty, though. It's basically just a non means tested cash assistance program for families with children.

I have a conservative family member who teaches is a poor district who became strongly in favor of continuing that credit after seeing the affect on kids in her class.

Having or adopting children is both a significant expense and a societal good, and we should subsidize it to prevent suffering of children from poverty.

Note: I am not saying people who don't want children should have them.

    No tax on tips

I’m fucking sick of this one. You would still have to claim your tips because ALL income needs to be claimed to the IRS. The proposal is to offer a deduction that would offset federal taxes (not state taxes) on that income.

But tell that to all the Trump zealots who come in and leave a 5% tip with “VOTE TRUMP! NO TAX ON TIPS!” scribbled on the top dollar bill. Motherfucker, I don’t need a slightly larger tax return. I need you to stop being a shitty tipper.

This min wage one makes perfect sense imo. If you're not a commie and make significantly above average min wage, you want the people serving you at stores and what not to make as little as possible

A raise in minimum wages does actually cause companies to pass on those costs to the customers
