Co-worker and I have spent like 30 hours each week together for almost 3 years, so we have a good rapport but if you're familiar with rlm, I am the Mike to his Rich Evans big time. We both like doing bits and I'm too punk rock and weird looking to play the straight man, he is Everymancore as hell and is totally aware of it. So that was sorta his experience but I think I cushioned the blow for him there. Also I make fun of him in the nicest way which is making up a detailed and elaborate fake backstory that I tell other people with a straight face in front of him. He goes along with it. Like he was on an episode of Nanny 911 that was pulled from the air and can't be found anymore, he was born with a small but noticeable tail, he can escape any man made prison, he's the sole beneficiary in Steven Segall's will for reasons he can't legally disclose and everything ill in the world is somehow his fault. I noticed he was kinda the whipping boy and decided to start making up really outlandish shit to blame on him cause despite for sure having some weaknesses at the job, he was getting too much shit and so I'd blame stuff like the war in Ukraine on him so that blaming him became a gag and therefore the legit raking him over the coals got lost in the noise. Inversely sometimes people feel a bit too comfortable bullying the guy cause of how we relate and I will cut that shit off fast, we have a thing where it's known we're both doing comedy and it's a long develloped shtick. He got me a ds9 model kit out of the blue after hearing I was gonna buy it and I make him 3d DnD setpiece maps. Sorta like an ogre battle map but I made different surface tiles by collecting twigs and drying out moss and gluing em together for trees and cutting the ends of grass and drying and making turf from that, we are pals and only I am allowed to fuck with my friends.
