It was a liberal party doing it with a new woman leader and the people protesting treated as some kind of total misunderstanding of reality or an excuse for government crackdown for conspiratorial reasons.

I imagine this is more or less how it would go if it really happened. Maybe if it had more enforced air ventilation/quality upgrades in buildings and expansions to health services and workers right to stay home sick it'd go over better, but I kinda' doubt it too.

an excuse for government crackdown for conspiratorial reasons.

Had someone tell me last year that he thought the government wanted more control of the population by implementing those fucking pathetic lockdowns that most treat brains ignored anyways. Like they don't have most people right where they want them.

I have the odd hopeful dream of everyone taking COVID and climate change seriously. It’s usually subtle, like I’m visiting relatives and don’t have to worry so much because I remember that everyone masks again for some reason. And there’s inexplicably lots of light rail around my American midwest suburban house. It’s nice.

I regularly have dreams where I realize I'm not wearing a mask and then I put one on and then the dream just continues. this-is-fine
