No idea whats gonna happen. First round polls shows MAS might be able to win it outright, but i feel like there will be serious vote tampering and violence at polls in rural areas or something to keep them from winning.

Arce needs to learn from Allende and purge the military the moment he takes power

That's how you get immediately couped again. Definately purge the cops though. The real struggle is how to handle Aymara new money, Morales lifting millions out of poverty and inevitably some chose their newfound class interests over the good of the plurinational state.

Honestly, if MAS wins, it's time to go at least a bit auth.

They tried working in the system, they got fucked, a lot of people died, fascists ruled the country for a couple years, etc... you can't just go back to a liberal democracy as if nothing happened.

They should at least do a "Mussolini" with Anez and her friends.

EDIT: if they don't win, there needs a violent overthrown then. Does anyone know how that hasn't happened yet? MAS has a lot of support, how come there aren't constant giant violent protests?

There's not a lot of coordination and there are big splits. MAS for example despite of course having overwhelming indigenous worker support does not control them or the unions. In fact. MAS has had to mediate the local actions as indigenous unions were blockading the capital and MAS had to get them to stop after they'd already forced the coup govt to call an election as it was making the capital more reactionary, and MAS is tbh at best as left as Allende so they are not going to call armed revolution most likely.

If it works out and he wins, they need to do a Stalin era crackdown on these folks. No excuse for anyone who participated in a military coup on a democratically elected leader.

They already forced the coup regime to hold this election by blocking every highway into every city in the country. Their base of support covers most of the country geographically. Unions hold a considerable amount of economic power and overwhelmingly support MAS. Also there are armed militias. I think an uprising is within the realm of possibility.

The issue is santa cruz and the old capital (not La Paz, the other one) it's why the opposition is struggling, one of the far right leaders has a regional power bastion that tried to secede in 2008 and now he wont step aside for the pre morales guy.

Anez stepped down to consolidate the anti-MAS vote, not out of a sense of duty.

Good news is that if they win, they can split the opposition by playing camacho and the pre Morales leader against each other. Bad news is that this will lead to the country breaking up and a war for natural resources.
