It's important to underscore the US involvement in the massive strikes on civilians in Beirut this past week.
American AWACS aircraft were seen approaching the Lebanese coast and then turning off their transponders right as the dozens of bombing runs began throughout Beirut on the 27th. Airplane spotters suggest these craft were deployed to aid with radar support for the fighter jets and possibly to conduct electronic surveillance of Hezbollah's reaction to the strikes.

When I was a kid, I was told the AWACS could “count the dimples on a golf ball at 40,000 feet.” They’re not innocent.
It's the military! They can't "innocently." That is an unavailable adverb for militaries.
my favorite thing to do is turn off my transponder while flying near fighter jets that mysteriously know exactly who & where I am and don't attack me
