I'm convinced that the left were chased off the site as part of psyops, it was left/right edgyness roughly 50/50 until the place got so obnoxious the left moved on and just allowed the nazis to takeover. I'm also convinced that this is the modus operandi of the feds in most online spaces, chase the left out of the space and get the right to take over. Look at how things go for the left in basically every online space, it's always the same op.
Most of the time the platforms are already in capitalist hands so it's really easy to just ask them to self moderate to ban and evict the left. The they just boost the "center" and voila!
