And we shouldn't allow this concept to go unchallenged here on Lemmy.

Commenting on an active post is not brigading

Posting a link to something is not brigading

Commenting on something you were linked to is not brigading

The only thing that might be brigading, but isn't because it isn't a real thing, is someone explicitly going, "Hey everyone, go here and harass this person"

It's all fine and good that we have some new rules to keep the peace with other instances but we must fight against reddit-logo brainworms

I know what you meant, but tbh we do need more moderators that are into custom van conversions

My liberal college friends call it van life, my brother who lived out of his car in Hawaii for 2 years back before that was a thing calls it van life now too, lol.

Or don't be so weak in your convictions that any opposing viewpoint is an attack.

People come in all the time with shitty views and we don't complain about brigadiers or ban them, we just continuously point out how stupid they are until they go away or learn something.

we literally hammered away at each other, tearing away the reactionary parts of ourselves over time, and now we're overrunning the posting environment. the fact that our emojis break their sites is a perfect metaphor for it, they cannot handle what we bring to the table.

And by the way observe how dramatically the use of emojis went down when we all realized there was an issue with them

"There we were, just us posters, going to town on one another over and over and over again, until we were cut, ripped, shredded, tight posting machines without an ounce of reaction on our rock hard bits"
