He was prepared for the union to get Taft Hartley'd and sent back to work for 90 days, so the fact that he accepted the agreement tells me that the salary gains (longshoremen make stupid money as it is) are worth the temporary concessions. I'm pretty sure a 62% raise over 6 years covers inflation. When the contracts are up for renewal, I'm sure they'll address any grievances then.
