Took the tarp off a woodpile and found a coiled up adult copperhead and dear reader let me assure you I did not remain calm, or withdraw from the encounter with dignity or in silence.

Very few venomous boiees around here but had a similar but much more benign encounter a couple weeks back. I was pulling logs out from under the tarp somewhat quickly and sent a nice fat 4' garter snake flying. Scared the hell out of me. I apologized, I didn't know you were living in there! And went on my way
