As Hexbear's resident appointed joyless scold, I think that the "NoFap" cult and especially the groyper "power level raising" tactic of consuming violent porn and deliberately denying themselves even the relief of an orgasm has done far more damage to westerners than porn itself has ever done.

I nonjokingly tie some of that "NoFap" chud ideology to the chud concept of "wizards" from years back. They tried to rationalize their own frustrations about not getting laid, felt a vague sort of shame about masturbating, and decided to make a creepy and self destructive cult mentality glorifying the one part of human sexuality they had some control over: themselves.
I cannot overstate how much I believe that despite consuming so much bedia regarding how to be alpha, stud, and ruggedly individualistic Americans are weaker, more depressed, and less skillful than their European counterparts. If you are genetically blessed and determined (and likely from a legacy) in a sport that circulates billions of dollars, you'll do better than anyone else, but if you're not aspiring to play basketball or American football then it seems like Americans struggle. They're less educated (see: literate), they're not better martial artists, and they're not better gamers. Even in the ticky tack whatevers like World's Strongest Man Americans aren't a stand out. While they won out in the Olympics, they tied for gold medals. Not only in competition, they're less pleasant to be around and they're less capable as roommates.
All this to say that I believe the attitude/culture that leads to nofap has done more harm than porn and given nothing tangible in return. If Americans even had a basic sense of cooperation there'd still be unions and the country might produce something besides MLM schemes, school shooters, and weapons for Israel.
Edit: there is a sense, if I am to understand, that Americans are friendly and sincere when you're in proximity.
