It was kinda like being a fly on the wall in a comedy writing room and you get to hear all the bits and not just the stuff that made it to broadcast. A "warts and all" experience.
Like the idea of a stereotypical east coast Italian dude who has depression but he can't admit it because of machismo so tells his therapist he's "self-pissed." That bit had me dying of laughter when I was dealing with my own demons and was in denial about getting therapy. I was working outside in 113 degree heat and I was laughing so hard it made me light headed and I was like "lol please don't let me die of heatstroke because I passed out listening to this stupid fucking podcast."
