I think I offhandedly recommend the theophiles one about the stump that floats in the lake, then hoped that'd be enough to bait amd switch them, but they just chose the latest ep at the time and worked backwards. Fortunately they seem to have liked it. To my other friends Ive been known to spruik the fundraiser one where everyone calls in doing their dead snakes hughsey impression. It's magical but not sure if it's the best entry point.
Also my general suggestion for new readers is to start with the first episode of a year and work forward. Because you get something about the Netherlands and Fireworks which is always funny and then they often make a lot of call-backs to previous recent episodes.
