There is no reason to hack archive.org unless you've been paid to by capitalists wanting to deter people from using it so they can maintain control over their "property".
This stinks of fed or corporate meddling.
Yeah def stinks of fed.
You want to take down a site because in your mind copyright infringment costs you money and also you don't want people getting used to the idea of anything being free. But everyone loves the site, what do you do?
Pay hackers to attack it, claim the attack was done by your enemies on the left, and bam! You've made people question using internet archive as unsafe AND you've managed to confuse leftists while also turning "non-political" types and other right-wingers against Pro-Palestinians.
Doing something while claiming to be leftist seems to be a common theme of fed bullshittery. We see it all the time where you will get feds coming to leftist rallies and then poisoning the well to get people to turn on leftism. For example, in my country it's illegal to fly flags at rallies if the government deems it the flag of a terrorist org. So now all the government has to do now to shut down pro-palestine protests is pay some idiot to fly a Hezbollah flag and bam! Now you have an excuse to arrest protestors while assuring the public that they were scary evil terrorist lovers! (This is in a supposed "free western capitalist democracy" by the way, Australia)
im not about to hop on x to shit on this account but will someone please do it on my behalf
These are the dumbest activist-hackers ever. Not only are they claiming to be taking it down, which completely makes no sense because the archive is totally in line with information freedom at the core of any hacking ethos, but now they are claims to be releasing user data for the platform that provides information freedom.
This is either
-
disinformation
-
anti info freedom hacking
-
false flag psyop
-
really low info hackers
