If you want to keep listening to audiobooks after this, search for "theaudiobookbay". The url keeps changing, but it'll be the top result every time.
Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
Daemon, and it's second part Freedom - Daniel Suarez Influx - Daniel Suarez
I liked Snow Crash a lot less when I realized that Stephenson’s libertarianism wasn’t a bit.
I find nonfiction to be really good for audiobooks, since if my attention drifts I still pick stuff up from it. I liked the Jakarta Method, and the Long 19th Century books, by Robert Weiner. The former is about a genocidal system set up by the CIA to stop the spread of communism, or even social democracy. The latter is three books about the rise of modern capitalism by a Marxist historian.
I actually just ordered a hardcover version of the Jakarta Method. I'll take a look at the other one, thanks.
The longest book that you can find to get the most bang out of your buck.
Yeah, I feel that. On the other hand I always have a ton of content to get through, so short and strong would be good too.
While audiobooks are a great way to read, remember that Audible is owned by Amazon.
No ethical consumption under capitalism, comrade. Voting with your dollars is lib shit. If I can get a dope audiobook that helps me radicalise for 15 bucks a month I'll take it.
You can get many more audiobooks for less if you pay for a VPN. But consider libro.fm and downpour.com if you want to pay for them.
Torrenting. A public tracker is audiobookbay.nl and a private tracker is myanonamouse.net. To join MAM you need to do an interview through IRC and follow their rules. You can go to ABB right now, all you need is an account you can make with a throwaway email. If you're new to torrents you can research how to do it through a VPN because your ISP will probably shut your connection if they catch you doing it.
This where you get info on the invite application for MAM. But try out ABB first while you become familiar with MAM rules (and read a little more about private trackers).
You can get some books through the mobilism forum too (you need to create an account) through direct downloads. All you need is an ad blocker.
gay is right that free is better than cheap and stealing is praxis, but if you're still insistent on paying for audiobooks you should check out chirp, they have good stuff for only a couple bucks, no subscription fee, and no bezos.
Rainbows End. It's written by an old techno-libertarian, but this dude has to be using dialectical materialism because it's a fictional story that follows pretty much how the future is definitely going to be, at least in the ways technology will interact with society.
There's a few books with that title on Goodreads. Is it the one by Vernor Vinge?
Yeah, that's the one. Predicts gig work, complete lack of retirement, and bubbles on the internet. Pretty good. Also AR stuff, but that didn't happen yet.
