The lengths he goes to to reinvent public transit but significantly worse just so nobody ever has to see a stranger are truly astounding

Anything and everything but standard mass transit. His hatred of it is disturbingly focused.

He said the cost probably over time. So in other words it’s more expensive than a bus but probably over time it might get cheaper.

I was being way too favourable to him in my comment definitely by taking his figures for it, for sure he used inflated city estimates and depressed internal costs, not to mention the cost per passenger is still lower with mass transit even at low usage rates. The audience plant immediately asking if they can buy the vehicle before the rest can think 2 seconds about the useless stat he just spat out was timely too

And no controls, not even for emergencies because of sheer techbro hubris.

There's no smart reason for that. It's just techbro flexing and arrogance.

The main point of concern with this is obviously Tesla's subpar hardware and software for the job… but also why make it two seats? Most real taxis have 4-6 passenger seats

Because King Bazinga decided that would be so and no one that wants to keep their job dares to correct him or make suggestions to improve his bazinga genius ideas.

Also, he claims to care about children and families, but he really doesn't give a fuck about the practicality of having children (and a spouse that actually sticks around and doesn't hate you) while fretting with a two seat bazingamobile.

Fortunately. I don't want any children to get caught in one of those lithium bombs.

All that money and he didn't even come up with the most obvious solution.

Just imagine the cringe stale bazinga jokes that Robert Picardo's voice would tell to passengers.

Holy shit that was Robert Picardo!

Make it describe the plots of the Doctor's holonovels in exhaustive detail to the passengers.

I’ve seen videos of people walking up and vandalizing those self-driving taxis while a passenger is still inside them lol

Bazingas have been saying devout mantras like "this is safer than the human!" for years now already, too.

Working in delivery, they’re gonna have a blast when trying to automate the delivery side of postal work. Good fucking luck getting people to comply with box mounting requirements to the letter around here
