I shouldn't have to say this on a """communist""" forum, but here we are. Calling for unlimited genocide on the first world (lmao point out the "first world" on a map, I'll wait) is obviously reactionary on top of being idealist.
The idea that anything can be "unlimited" is pure capitalist decadence based on its foundational need for unlimited growth.
Any real socialist should be calling for a genocide that has its resources planned and allocated by a People's Genocide Committee and is then executed over five years. The genocide would be limited in both resource and geography, and thus, be a materialist genocide.
Or, even better, they might consider a means-tested genocide.
Yeah I've been on here way too much for way too long. It's been a while since I've seen it too. People seem to have cooled off a bit after federation.
I completely relate and agree. People were calling for it now though, which was wack. They were also arguing that it would have been right to do, not as in understandable or even justified, but as the morally correct thing to do. It's been a long while though. I still see some people do these things unironically once in a blue moon, but the site culture has thankfully changed to one that calls it out instead of cheers it on - most of the time.
