Maggie Haberman is a tool and an access journalist but she's spent 9 years covering the guy and she's probably had a hand in writing more than a million words about the guy at the NYT.

She knows him better than maybe any other journalist. And as much as I hate her - I trust her observations on this. In fact - I assume she's sitting on lot of recent juicy examples that will only appear years later in one of her books.

"The music thing is a big thing for him. It was how people would basically 'reset' him in the White House."

~7:42 She talks about him at a dinner.

"It was as if he had no sense of who he was in front of or who he was talking to... It's like he's devoid of context. It's like he's showing up and behaving."

Rant

Media outlets need to provide transcripts. It's super annoying to hunt for this sort of crap.

This is beautiful. It’s like they’re describing Buddha.

I found comments that referred to "reset" and "devoid of context". I always want a transcript but I knew one didn't exist and articles about the vid clip were going to be SEO garbage. I hate to watch video to play the game of Find the Quotes! but I figured it would be worth the effort. Haberman is unusual for DC dorks. She's clever and she knows how to tell a story. And my efforts paid off.

I'd never watch a vid of a typical DC dork like Peter Baker. They're like the annoying uncanny valley garbage output for an AI prompt like: 𝚝𝚘𝚙𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕 𝚟𝚒𝚍 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚙 𝚘𝚏 𝚊 𝙳𝙲 𝚓𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚃𝚛𝚞𝚖𝚙.

I mean fuck them anyway, but imagine being some lanyard dork staffer just out of finishing school hooking up with the Trump campaign and having to manage this lead brained lunatic.

Haha thanks for that. This makes me feel slightly better about these ivy league assholes who spend forever trying to make our country worse. Imagine spending years in fraternity and debate club mixers sucking up to Federalist Society think tankers and business lobbyists, using all of your parent's golf buddies and contacts to get near power, all to then have to pretend this sundowning goofball is a genius to the public. Spending your days behind the scenes flipping through Spotify playlists trying to figure out how to reset the your boss so he can listen to your PowerPoint about the newest story on a made up crime Gambian immigrants in Plano, TX have maybe committed.

Gonna laugh when the Dems hand the Whitehouse back to this guy and we all have our daily two minutes of hate and/or vibe depending on the mood.

our daily two minutes of hate and/or vibe depending on the mood.

"Somebody told me that poopmachine3700 made fun of Kristen Stewart on Twitter. And I saw the tweets and some people liked them but I didn't like them. Bad. Very bad. Not funny. Kristen must be protected. My police and some SWAT guys - I love the SWAT guys..." He sings some of the theme music to the 1970s tv show. "...arrested poopmachine3700 an hour ago because my official act. He's going to the new big black hole - DCmo - DC Gitmo. Tortured To Death Livestream tomorrow. Unless I change my mind. But maybe I change my mind. Kristen... Girl... Muscles in new movie but still sexy girl... And the next bad thing is..."

He wanted Robert Pattinson to break up with her. So you might think he doesn't like her. A lot of people don't know this but he has a crush on her. Maybe.
