I don't think there's a time in Battletech canon history where gender has made all that much of a difference. It's about political intrigue and big stompy robot destruction it's not woke just because gender doesn't factor into pilot performance. Chud brains are irredeemable
IIRC some of the inner sphere powers are pretty patriarchal? I recall there being noble houses with political marriages, which were meant to evoke medieval european ones, and most rulers being men which implies male succession.
Founder of the Jade falcons also bad ass women in the Civil wars she fought in. Famous for surviving nuclear blasts and the fighting on foot with a sword.
Extreme in many situations but no one could say she was every afraid of the enemy.
