Is this a thing? Imagine self reproducing, self organizing, self sufficient leftist communes growing out of the decadence of the imperial core. It would probably be hard to keep them principled. Recommend me some books about it?

You see the appeal of the theory. I'm sure it won't work for dozens of reasons, I just looking for a name and some books for/about it.
it's an okay analogy but I'd focus on reading actual theory rather than an analogy to a completely different field.
I am very unlearned but this might fit with deleuze/guattari's rhizome/schizoid stuff? No I haven't read either
