I gotta watch Votoms. But I've been on a manga kick and haven't been watching any anime or reading any comic books.
It's super cool. Alongside the direct sequels, I'd also recommend the spin-off OVA Armor Hunter Mellowlink - it has a simple revenge plot, but the premise of "dude with a big gun fights mecha" kinda sells itself.
I'm trying to work my way through more Ryosuke Takahashi directed stuff, currently working on Dougram, but I picked up too much "anime homework" from the podcasts I've been following to get far into it.
