multiple people on the editorial board resigned so i'm not sure it was the boards decision more than the billionaire owners decision. Link

A decision by the owner of the Los Angeles Times not to endorse in the 2024 presidential race — after the paper’s board proposed backing Kamala Harris — has created a tempest, prompting three members of The Times editorial board to resign and provoking thousands of readers to cancel their subscriptions.

Their kid seems to have some minimum of human decency if nothing else. Does she deserve special attention for being a billionaire's kid? No, not really. But standing up against genocide certainly is a good take regardless of who it's coming from..

i just think the tweet is incorrect, because she says it's the editorial boards decision when the LA Times has an article saying it was the owners decision.

plus these endorsements don't matter anyways, it's not 1960.

unless something is said specifically about it, going from "no endorsement" to "definitely opposes genocide" is a leap. the daughter isnt the billionaire.

              there is also this: https://www.semafor.com/article/11/16/2023/la-times-bars-reporters-who-signed-open-letter-from-covering-gaza

so the question is, does shit flows from the billionaire or editorial board?

For my family, Apartheid is not a vague concept. My father was an emergency surgeon at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. He treated students shot by the police during the Soweto Uprisings – where 176 died

there is this from the daughter.

At the same time, owner seems like a dipshit. who knows

The liberals in solid solid blue states freak out if you even imply that you aren't fully enthusiastic about checking that Kamala box to "save democracy" or whatever. Anything short of full support, regardless of context, breaks their brain.

Dawg it was because the owner of the LA Times is a biotech guy who has stuff in front of the FDA. He saw how Trump was vindictive to Amazon last time.

It has nothing to do with principles of any sort. The faildaughter is gaslighting you.
