    So the law firm that represented the sacked workers seems to be some weird religious organisation. Also no way that non privileged people get this kinda legal recourse, as in when people get hurt by cops or lose their jobs for union organising.

      I wouldn't be surprised if the firm sought these people out. Ambulance chasers but with ulterior motives.
