    You can definitely draw criticism of capitalism from the book, I think Kafka hated the fact he had to work as well as it took time away from his writing.

    but the book is mainly about social isolation and how it is possible for someone to be shunned by even those who are meant to be closest to them. With the turning into a giant cockroach metaphor showing how his family is ashamed of him, how he feels in this situation and also perhaps how he perceives himself.

    Capitalism is a part of this alienation because of the society he lives in but the book explores the effect more than the cause

    Regarding the above twitter post, I don’t think Gregor samsa would have been happy as Larry in modern day Finland or something haha, imagine that being your take
