Chad PSL voter/organizer/revolutionary vs. Virgin big-tent electoralist party voter

EDIT: Mainly just for the memes, but lets all remember that voting in this election as a leftist is to count our numbers ideologically. The real work remains in organizing and base building outside of the bourgeois political structure.

In Canada the Green part had a leadership race and we were this close to getting an open socialist as the leader and it would have been awesome.

The only reason to vote for the Greens is as a recognizable protest vote, but for publicity purposes it would be better to vote for an explicitly socialist party like Party for Socialism and Liberation if they are on the ballot in your state. Honestly though if I was in a swing state like PA, AZ, MN, FL I would vote Biden, because electoralism doesn't do much either way and the Green party isn't even on the ballot in all 50 states so protest voting is limited lol

The only real reason I see to support WFP is that they will run someone against Cuomo in 2022 just like they did with Cynthia Nixon in 2018. Hoping they also run someone against Schumer, but I doubt it given he's playing friendly with them lately.

I disagree as it pertains to the United States. The Green Party has no real chance of winning, so a vote for them is simply saying, "the Democratic Party lost my vote because it did not support these policies," as well as helping them to the federal funding limit. I don't think Green voters in the US need to worry about how the party will govern.

Why not vote for the communists instead then?

Not everyone has communists on the ballot, and write-in rules will get your ballot tossed if you do it wrong. Personally I think it makes more sense to go Green just by virtue of their being on more ballots but I offer uncritical support for other socialist / communist candidates. We don't exactly have to worry about splitting the vote here lol

IDK, Bandt is one of the least shit Politicians, though I do agree that there are some tree tories in the party.

Yeah the Greens definitely have support from very well off suburbanites who kind of care about the environment, the only hope for the Greens I have is that Bandt actually manages to use the party to pull Labor left or force them in to a coalition.

in the UK, any temptations I've had for the greens has been squashed by their antagonism of Old Labour. Were they truly a socialist party like they claim, the second that Labour adopted a socialist manifesto they should have formed some kind of Red-Green coalition like in Denmark, but instead chose to publicly undermine and sap Labour votes because rEaSoNs. Add to that their tacit endorsement of a pro-capitalist Green New Deal and they are bewrayed as an eco-bourgeois larper's club
