I understand people who vote for her out of fear of Trump, or resignation that nothing better is possible. I disagree, but I get where they're coming from. But the smug ones? Like they do see what's happening, yeah? And they're still like "this is OBVIOUSLY the right choice YOU MORONS" What even is that thought process, it's just baffling.

The media tying themselves up into a pretzel to be outraged at the notion that war hawks like Cheney should go fight the wars they send working class people off to fight is pretty jokerfying. Anyone with half a heart is going to agree with Trump that people like Liz suck, but liberals have the memory of a goldfish and totally forgot 20 years ago when they protested her dad for the exact same shit.

Biden did exactly that with his eldest son and poisoned his younger son's brain with the fervent dogmatic hawkishness. McCain put five different planes into the ground fighting the Vietnamese, ffs. Kerry nearly got himself killed charging in on a Swiftboat. None of these assholes made the world a better place with their foreign policy. They were all just as ghoulish as their Obama/Bush/Clinton/Trump peers, who demured from joining a live fire zone.

I just don't think being in the shit matters when its so far in your rear view mirror by the time you take office. Hell, in cases like McCain, I think its worse as it helps you justify your rampant racist hate.

liberals have the memory of a goldfish and totally forgot 20 years ago when they protested her dad for the exact same shit.

They can barely remember why the protested Trump eight years ago. Its really fucked.

Life is really good, if you can just tune out the toxic internet bullshit and enjoy the people around you.

But then a new despot rolls into office and suddenly the people around you can't get basic medical care or a decent job or enough money to pay for the record high air condition costs after the latest heat wave. That shit sucks ass.

hey thank you for your long effort post critique of against the logic of submission. I think the post should not have been removed so that people could read your critique. it was super good.

that pamphlet was something I liked probably 15 years ago, and last night I was blacked out drunk, channeling that old ideology when I posted it, just to see what kind of response it would get on this site. your critique was great and since I haven't read it in so long you took it apart in ways I never considered back when I liked it. I still have a friend who is into that stuff and he is exactly like you described in your critique: thinks he is very special, etc. you hit the nail on the head.

It's the conscious and unconscious recognition that when genocide is normalized and an entire demographic is sacrificed for the sake of political expediency, the very concept of solidarity becomes untenable as an organizing principle for society or as a personnel ideal that people can afford to maintain

People begin to feel (again unconsciously and consciously) who's next? Me and mine? Where am I on the line? Obviously this generates immense resentment, suspicion and justified paranoia

the very concept of solidarity becomes untenable as an organizing principle

This is where I'm at, yeah. How can you sit here and tell me this population has any solidarity with me, any revolutionary potential at all when they excuse genocide? When they don't wear masks because "their guy" said so? Say climate change is all right because "I didn't like snow anyway"? The social fabric is pretty rapidly being undone and it's all I can do to just cope with it; there is no fixing this without massive, sweeping cultural change and we can't (won't) even do the bare minimum.

At least it will soon be over with. If the liberals can be trusted, we might even be lucky enough that this will be the last election they will ever hold.
