put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Just a reminder when these people say "Ukraine is fucked", what they mean is they believe Trump will have a less hawkish policy toward Ukraine than Biden. That he'll pump fewer weapons into a barbaric WWI-style meat grinder in eastern Europe and engage in diplomacy. Something that likely isn't even true.

"Ukraine is fucked" to libs means losing some land and/or having a pro-Russia government. The people dying don't matter.

Something that likely isn't even true.

Ukraine has been Biden's project since he was VP. Trump on the other hand holds no hate for Russia and even clashed with Zelenskyy. He'll be happy to drop them. Especially as revenge for his first impeachment and loss to Biden. Plus he has Israel as an excuse.

The Republican party is still controlled in part by the defense blob. If anything he'll pull a nixon and find a way to prolong the war while pretending to end it.

He has other battles to hawk over. Like I said he has Israel as an excuse. "We need to stop sending weapons to Ukraine so we can send them to Israel."

Plus he'll probably start stoking things with Iran even further.

the only bad part about (at least some of) the Democrats caring about Gaza again is that we all know that it's insincere. they didn't give a shit about hospitals full of people being hit by some of the biggest non-nuclear bombs humanity has yet conceived of under Biden, but now (at least some of them) are going to pretend they care now. and in 4 years if the Dems win then they will return to not giving a shit

I still think that liberals caring about real-world issues under Trump is a positive silver lining, but it comes with that distrust of them, because we've seen how their empathy and morality switches off simply because the president changes. how many will return to brunch when like, Klobuchar or Biden's head in a jar is elected president in 2028? I'm unsure how to radicalize these sorts of people permanently; then again, as Day indirectly says, perhaps the Democrat liberal base is barren ground from the start

The only thing in that list that changes if Kamala won is that Elon would be sad. There's only limited changes to the nature and shape of the evil of this empire between which demon gets elected.

      • Gaza if anything has an ever slightly better chance than if the current regime that is currently funding its genocide had won.

      • Yeah, Ukraine is fucked, but it was anway and would be no matter who won. Also, this is a good thing.

      • No more than they already were.

      • No more than they already were.

      • No more than they already were.

      • The Biden/Harris regime loved doing brinkmanship to bring us closer to WW3 and did so far more than Trump did during his previous presidency. We'll see though.

      • The Biden/Harris regime did more deportation than Trump, they built his wall, and they were promising to do even more to ruin lives and families if elected again. It was a competition with Trump on who could be worse and more evil.

      • It does suck that Elon Musk is probably happy, I agree.
