    there are multitudes of felons that are kind decent people who got caught up in a racist prison system that feeds on slave labor, but there have only been two or three good prosecutors ever

    The felonious trump thing irks me bc it was convicted of first time fairly petty tax fraud for misreporting how he paid a sex worker. And the legal theory they used to turn this from a misdemeanor to a felony was apparently new and a really long stretch.

    Like they hold up "felon" like a scarlet letter, and setting aside why that's fucked up they didn't actually nail him for any serious or felonious crime, the charges are afaik actually trumped up.

      No, your justice system is so ineffectual against rich people it was the only thing that could be done. When your entire system is based on protecting and empowering the rich, when someone gets a seat on the table through underhanded ways, you can't expel them without endangering the people that """earned""" their way up.
